Albany, NY- Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R, C, I –Shirley) announced that Harry Wilson, former 2010 candidate for New York State Comptroller and Corporate Restructuring Expert has endorsed his MTA Payroll Tax Repeal legislation (S.5596/A.8193).

Harry Wilson released the following statement:

“The MTA payroll tax has been an unfair burden on businesses and nonprofits throughout the metro area for far too long. New York’s elected leaders have a lot of work to do to end a long list of job-killing measures in New York, and Senator Zeldin’s legislation to repeal the MTA payroll tax is a great start. I am thrilled that Senator Zeldin is making good on his campaign promise to lead the charge to repeal this onerous tax. New Yorkers owe him a debt of gratitude."

“Harry Wilson is one of America's highest regarded experts in corporate restructuring and it’s great to have his endorsement of our MTA Payroll Tax repeal legislation.  It is important that we eliminate this job- killing tax as soon as possible, and I am excited to add his endorsement to our growing list. Harry is a passionate advocate for fixing New York and creating a business climate that attracts jobs. It means a lot to have his support for this legislation. I am working very hard to bring together a broad bi-partisan coalition to fight for this tax repeal legislation,” said Senator Zeldin.

Harry Wilson’s support adds to a growing list of endorsements Senator Zeldin’s legislation has received in the past week since being announced. Harry Wilson joins the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the Business Council of New York State, Inc., the Conservative Party of New York State, The Long Island Business News, New York Farm Bureau, GrowPAC, Long Island Cares, Inc., The Long Island Business Council, The Hauppauge Industrial Association, and several Chambers of Commerce in supporting this legislation.
