Senator Zeldin Congratulates Recipients of New Economic Growth Investments From New York State

Albany, NY- Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R, C, I- Shirley) congratulated the winners announced today from the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council’s proposal.

Related to the Third Senate District, Senator Zeldin was pleased that Governor Cuomo selected the Ronkonkoma Hub, Brentwood’s Heartland Project, Brookhaven National Laboratory, and other projects impacting his district.

“I thank Governor Cuomo and his economic team for making these investments in the Third Senate District. These projects will be a transformational economic spark for our community for job growth and economic stability.”

Nearly a dozen projects totaling approximately $15 million were funded impacting the Third Senate District. Some of the largest awardees include: $4 million for the Ronkonkoma Hub, $2.5 million for the Heartland Town Square Project, $1.4 million for United Baking Company/Uncle Wallys in Shirley, and $5 million for Stony Brook University and Brookhaven National Lab.

“I wish to thank all the individuals whose hard work and efforts went into securing these new investments to spur economic growth in the Third Senate District,” concluded Senator Zeldin.
