Senator Zeldin Receives Business Council’s Highest Grade in 2011 Voters’ Guide Report

Ronkonkoma, N.Y. – The Business Council of New York State recently released their 2011 Voters’ Guide, which measures New York State legislators’ “Commitment to improving the state’s economic climate and performance by scoring their support for key business legislation during the 2011 session.” Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R, C, I- Shirley) received the Business Council’s highest score.

“The 2011 Legislative Session marked a distinct change in the way Albany does business,” said Senator Zeldin. “By working together with Governor Cuomo and my colleagues in the Legislature, we were able to pass an on-time, balanced budget with no new taxes, fees, or borrowing. This, coupled with meaningful legislation aimed at real economic development, will put New York State back on the path towards prosperity.”

According to the Business Council, Senators and Assembly members were rated for their stances on bills considered by the Business Council to have a significant impact on New York’s economic climate.

“I look forward to continuing our fight to end the tax and spend culture of Albany and enact significant legislation, including a repeal of the MTA Payroll Tax, in the coming 2012 Session that will further boost our economy and bring jobs back to New York State,” concluded Zeldin.
