Senator Malcolm A. Smith visited the World Trade Center site today upon the announcement by President Obama regarding the death of Osama Bin Laden.
"I am here, like many New Yorkers, to offer my respect to the 9/11 victims and to reflect upon the ten years since that terrible tragedy," said Senator Smith. "The largest number of first responders that perished that fateful day came from the District I represent. My heart and prayers are with the victims' families," he continued, "and while there may never be closure, there is a sense of relief with this tremendous victory for the United States.”
He concluded by saying: "May this serve as a warning to terrorists around the world that the United States and its people will not be defeated."
