Statement from Senator Malcolm A. Smith on the Governor’s State of the State Address

“ With this new year comes a refreshing start and I look forward to working with my friend and our new Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The dawn of a new year provides each of us the opportunity to reflect on the past and renew our spirit for the year ahead.

The Governor’s speech was powerful, needed and right on the mark. Governor Cuomo outlined an ambitious reform agenda that will tackle education, over sized government, job creation and tax relief, which we all agree needs to be changed for the betterment of all New Yorkers.  

I look forward to working with all of my colleagues in and out of government as we move New York State into a 21^st Century with a more efficient government driven by performance and not by the dollar.”
