April 26, 2011

The New York State Thruway Authority has scheduled work on the Southbound South Grand Island Bridge for 2011 and 2012.

The work involves some additional structural repairs underneath the decking and re-paving of the deck including an overlay similar to the Northbound South Bridge. Currently, the re-paving is planned for the 2012 construction season.

There will be an informational briefing on the extend of the work and the tentative schedule including the maintenance of traffic plans at 9am on Monday, May 9.

The briefing will be made by the Thruway Authority and the project’s consulting engineers. It will take place in the first floor conference room at Grand Island Town Hall, located at 2255 Baseline Road.
