New York State Senator Mark Grisanti (60th District) launched a free "job resource center" online that will provide assistance to constituents in his district who are currently looking for a job.
"Creating new jobs and retaining existing jobs is really what it is all about here in Western New York," said Senator Grisanti. "Since taking office in January, I have made bringing jobs back to Western New York one of my top priorities."
Currently unemployment is at 9.1% in the United States, 8% in New York State-wide and in 7.3% in the Buffalo/Niagara Region. According to the Department of Labor there are over 2,500 vacancies in Western New York.
"Finding a job can be difficult, stressful and nerve wracking for some so what we have done is create a place where you can go and search for jobs, find tips on how to write a resume and locate current information about upcoming job fairs to help people be as successful and prepared as possible for a job interview, I want to make this as easy as possible for Western New Yorkers."
