Senator Golden Announces 2011 Concert Series to Play Local Parks This Summer

Head Over Heels, Alive N Kickin, and John Kuse & The Excellents Among the Headliners
Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District), with the Community Emergency Response Team and the South West Brooklyn Parks Task Force, is announcing plans to host a series of fifteen summer concerts and events throughout July and August in local parks throughout his district.
“This community is home to some of the greatest parks in the City of New York,” said Senator Marty Golden, “I host these events so to give us a local opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy fun filled evenings of entertainment. A great lineup for sure, meaning great shows all summer long. So bring your chair and your blanket and head to the park-it’s show time.”
The concerts begin the second of July, with the first two performances scheduled for Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. when “New York Exceptions” will perform at oldies from the ‘50’s through the ‘70’s at 79th Street and Shore Road, and on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, when “Disco Unlimited”, performs the best of 70’s disco to entertain the crowd at Marine Park.
“The 2011 summer concert series features talent that brings to life the music we have come to enjoy and love,” continued Senator Golden, “So no matter what your preference is, the oldies, disco, doo-wop, or the music of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, you are sure to enjoy the music and have a great time. And we have some very special tribute bands to Foreigner, Journey, and the Four Seasons, as well as Alive N Kickin and John Kuse & The Excellents on schedule.”
