Senator Golden Applauds Legislature on Passage of a United Nations Development District

Albany- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District) issued the following statement regarding the passage of S5706-2011, a bill to authorize the City of New York to allow for a United Nations development district:
“I applaud my colleagues for taking this necessary action in order to continue to improve the economy of our great city. This project will spark our city with crucial economic activity, and the creation of much needed jobs. As well, we will bring additional tax revenue for our City and our State, helping to balance future budgets."
S5706-2011 ensures that our city and state benefit from substantial economic actively, ensuring that revenue from the presence of the United Nations continues to flow to the City and State.
The bill was sent to the Assembly.
