State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District), Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R-C, 60th District), and George Telmany of New York State Small Business Services, joined John Avelluto, owner of The Owls Head, at their grand opening on Tuesday, December 20th.
Senator Golden, a former small business owner and merchant leaders, welcomed John and his new business to the neighborhood. "It is great to see new businesses opening up in Bay Ridge. I am happy to see the New York State Small Business Services working here, as they were instrumental in making The Owls Head a reality. We must continue to look for ways to develop and support small business so to keep our neighborhood a great place to live, work and raise a family."
NYS Small Business Services opened an office in Bay Ridge in the spring with the help of Senator Golden. They provide free business counseling for new and existing businesses. The Owls Head, owned by John Avelluto, a Xaverian graduate, is a place for locals to go and enjoy local wines and beers from Brooklyn.
