Senator Golden Partners with Brooklyn Workforce 1 to Organize Career Fair

Martin J. Golden

June 16, 2011

Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, 22nd District), in conjunction with Brooklyn Workforce 1, is announcing an upcoming career fair for job seekers in Brooklyn. The fair will take place in Meletia Hall at St. Anselm School on Thursday, June 30, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Representatives from various companies and agencies, have been invited to discuss positions available in their organizations. Brooklyn Workforce 1 will also be available to discuss job prospects throughout Brooklyn. In addition, the Small Business Development Center will be in attendance to assist individuals interested in starting their own business and will have special information available for veterans seeking to become business owners.

Senator Golden stated, “With our economy the way it is today, and with increased competition for fewer jobs, it is imperative that jobseekers are assisted in their efforts to obtain employment. Creating a venue where they can meet face to face with potential employers breaks down barriers people face today when they are unemployed or seeking to change careers.”

“It is my hope that this career fair will help the economy of our community and our City by bringing together motivated individuals with businesses and agencies looking for talent. New York City’s Workforce 1 has done great things to provide employment resources for jobseekers. This career fair should serve as an example of something that helps them take an extra step securing gainful employment.”
