Over 1,000 New Yorkers Support Senator Nozzolio’s Fight for a Property Tax Cap

In just over two weeks, over 1,000 New York State residents have joined State Senator Mike Nozzolio’s fight to put a cap on property taxes by signing his online petition urging the New York State Assembly to adopt the property tax cap legislation that was recently enacted in the Senate. 

“This overwhelming response should send a message to the State Assembly that property taxpayers in New York want a cap on their property taxes and we need it now,” said Senator Nozzolio. “Hundreds of property owners have signed my petition and forwarded it to others who have also been impacted by the crushing cost of property taxes in this State. By working together, I believe we can convince the members of the State Assembly to join us in enacting a tax cap that will bring real relief to the people of New York.”

Senator Nozzolio fought to enact the tax cap legislation in the State Senate, where it was overwhelmingly adopted with bi-partisan support earlier this year. All that is needed now for the tax cap to become law is for the State Assembly to vote on and enact this legislation.

As part of his ongoing efforts to get the tax cap enacted into law, Senator Nozzolio launched an online petition two weeks ago to urge the State Assembly to support the property tax cap legislation. So far, over 1,000 New Yorkers have signed the petition and the list is growing longer every day. You can still sign the petition at www.senatornozzolio.com.
