New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio has been selected to serve on two of the most critically important committees in the New York State Senate. It has been announced today that Senator Nozzolio has been chosen to serve on both the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate Rules Committee. These two powerful committees have jurisdiction over the State Budget and all legislation before the State Senate.
“It is an honor to serve on the two most important committees in the State Senate that will play a vital role in dramatically altering the economic condition of New York State. We must cut spending, reduce taxes and promote private sector job growth,” said Senator Nozzolio. “I look forward to working with my legislative colleagues and Governor Cuomo to make the changes necessary to revive our economy and restore confidence in New York State.”
As a member of the Senate Finance Committee, Senator Nozzolio will play a critical role in developing the State budget and setting New York's priorities in order to close the budget deficit. Every State agency's budget will be carefully reviewed and analyzed in order to reduce spending. Senator Nozzolio will help set the agenda for the Legislative Session as a member of the Senate Rules Committee. All legislation must pass through the Rules Committee before it is sent to the full Senate for debate and vote.
“It's time to take the decisive action needed to turn our State around. In these key leadership positions, I will work to enact legislation that creates economic opportunities for all New Yorkers and returns New York State to its rightful status as the Empire State,” said Senator Nozzolio.
