(Albany, NY)- Senator Neil D. Breslin (D-Delmar) recognizes March as Irish American Heritage Month and encourages all New Yorkers to recognize the vital contributions Irish Americans have made to the Capitol Region and celebrate those who proudly trace their roots back to Ireland.
“During the month of March, we reflect on our nation's past and how Irish-Americans helped create the great country we live in today,” Senator Breslin said. “They fought for our independence and have made significant contributions to civic and cultural life here in America. As someone of Irish-American ancestry I am especially proud of our history and join with my neighbors, friends and family in celebrating our heritage.”
There are plenty of ways to show your support around the Capital District, most notably the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 12th in downtown Albany. Throughout the entire month there are opportunities to attend other parades, gatherings, Masses and other cultural celebrations around the region.
