While newly elected State Senator Patrick M. Gallivan hasn’t been in Albany long, on Thursday evening the Good Government Club of Western New York saw fit to bestow upon him their “achievement award” for his career in public service.

Gallivan stated he was “honored and humbled” to receive the prestigious award from such a respected institution. “For over three decades The Good Government Club of Western New York has been actively promoting and encouraging honesty and integrity in government and I am very appreciative that they recognize my adherence to those same principles,” remarked Gallivan.

Joined by family and nearly 400 guests, Gallivan accepted the award at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens in Depew during the Good Government Club’s annual St. Joseph’s dinner. This is the club’s twelfth presentation of the Achievement Award. Past recipients include the Majority Leader of the New York State Senate, the New York State Comptroller, the New York State Attorney General, the Mayor of Buffalo and a host of other elected and public officials.

Prior to being elected State Senator, Gallivan served as the Sheriff of Erie County from 1998 through 2005, preceded by a highly decorated, two-decade tenure as a member of the New York State Police.
