State Senator Patty Ritchie is bringing her very successful “Mobile District Office” program to Jefferson County and Alexandria Bay on Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Sen. Ritchie and Jefferson County Legislators Mike Docteur and Phil Reed will be on hand to help residents with any issues they may be having with state or other government agencies.
The Alexandria Bay Mobile District Office will be held at the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority Board Room, located off the I-81 exit ramp, just before the Thousand Islands Bridge. A sixth Mobile District office is scheduled for Dec. 7 in the Town of Champion Board Room at 10 North Broad Street in West Carthage from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Plans are in the works to expand the program into St. Lawrence County before the end of the year.
“When working people need help with their government, they sometimes have trouble finding time to travel to Watertown,” Senator Ritchie said. “My mobile office has been very successful in allowing me and my staff to help Jefferson County residents with problems getting answers and results from state government agencies. That's why I'm hosting these sessions at times when it's more convenient for working people."
“By bringing my office into communities, we can make sure we're available to get answers and help for people," Senator Ritchie said. "We've helped hundreds of Jefferson County residents since we opened our Watertown office in the Dulles State Office Building, but our Mobile District Office program helps us get to people who don’t have time to come to our Watertown office.”
Constituents can get advice and guidance in dealing with state agencies, and Sen. Ritchie’s staff will be collecting information to help those who can’t get the answers they need, or are having difficulty navigating the cumbersome State bureaucracy.
