Sessions In Ogdensburg, Canton, Massena, Star Lake To Aid Community Groups
State Senator Patty Ritchie and the New York State Department of Health are cosponsoring four workshops in St. Lawrence County on safe food handling techniques for churches and not for profit groups.
"These events are vital to community-based organizations. I am hoping that by working together we can insure the public's health is protected while our communities can continue to host these events that are such an important part of the fabric of small town life," Senator Ritchie said. "The workshops are being held in the wake of the cancellation of two chili cook offs last February and questions raised about community dinners. With the summer chicken barbecue season just around the corner, it's critical that everyone knows what's expected."
The workshops will feature staff from the New York State Department of Health who will discuss state health requirements and ways groups can insure they are in compliance with the department's regulations
