Aluminum Company To Add 100 New Jobs
State Senator Patty Ritchie praised Novelis for the company’s decision to invest $200 million in its Oswego County operations to expand the company’s aluminum sheet production for the automotive industry which is expected to add 100 new jobs in Central New York.
“I want to thank Novelis for believing in the future of Oswego County and New York State,” Senator Ritchie said. “Last month, I sponsored my Career Expo that featured Novelis and other companies. The people who applied for positions at Novelis at my job fair will have an opportunity to be considered for those 100 new jobs.”
Novelis expects to hire approximately 100 new employees in Oswego County over the next two years leading to start-up of the new equipment in the summer of 2013.
“Novelis is showing why it has become a global leader by recognizing that Central New York has a dedicated world class workforce that can help companies succeed and prosper,” Senator Ritchie said. “Earlier this year, I voted for a State budget to hold the line on taxes to help Governor Cuomo send a message that New York is once again open for business.”
"I want to thank Governor Cuomo for his leadership in helping to make this expansion possible. I also want to commend the efforts of the Oswego County Industrial Development Agency and Empire Development," Senator Ritchie said.
Novelis is the world leader in the aluminum automotive sheet production field. The company’s aluminum can be found in 17 different vehicle models produced by leading automakers around the globe.
