McDonald Recognizes Verdile’s Restaurant with Small Business in Excellence Award

Lansingburgh, Troy May 13, 2011 – Senator Roy McDonald honored Verdile’s Restaurant with a Small Business in Excellence Award on Friday, May 13. Verdile’s is a third generation family-owned and operated Italian restaurant in Lansingburgh, the award presentation occured at the restaurant, 562 Second Avenue at 115th Street in Lansingburgh.
Verdile’s opened in 1943 by Rafael and Frances Verdile, grandparents of the current owner Michael Verdile, Jr., the popular eatery has been in continuous operation at it’s current location since 1951. McDonald has fond memories of the restaurant and remembers it during his time grown up in Lansingburgh.
“It’s a great opportunity to recognize the great work of the Verdile family along with their positive contribution to the community of Lansingburgh,” said McDonald.
