Re: NYS Senate Puerto Rican/Latino Caucus
Dear Senator Sampson,
I am writing this letter to notify you that the Senate Puerto Rican/Latino Caucus has selected new officers as part of our efforts to continue representing our diverse constituencies. Our caucus has selected Senator Adriano Espaillat as our new chair.
Senator Espaillat will bring with him a wealth of experience in advocating for working-families and taking on the tough fights that help uplift our communities. As the previous chair of the Senate Puerto Rican/Latino Caucus, I was pleased to nominate Senator Espaillat because I know he will demonstrate the leadership qualities needed to move us forward.
Additionally, the Senate Puerto Rican/Latino Caucus has selected Senator Gustavo Rivera to be the Vice-chair. Senator Rivera will work closely with Senator Espaillat and all Caucus members to help advance our agenda.
As our state continues to deal with budget deficits and an economy that’s struggling to recover, the Senate Puerto Rican/Latino Caucus will continue to champion working-families and make sure our constituents are not left behind.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to working closely with you in the months and years to come.
Sincerely,
Senator Rubén Díaz
32nd District
