Honorable Dennis M. Walcott
Acting Schools Chancellor
New York City Department of Education
Tweed Courthouse
52 Chambers Street
New York, New York 10007

Dear Chancellor Walcott:

Please accept my sincere congratulations upon your designation to become Schools Chancellor for the New York City Department of Education.

Your extensive experience and your many degrees in education make you most suitable for this important position that will impact the lives of millions of children, parents and educators.

I value your worth, and I believe that you not only deserve to be our education chancellor, but you also deserve all the benefits and perks that come with the position such as salary, housing and other benefits that those who precede you as New York City Schools Chancellor have also received.

It must be said that while some who have preceded you as Mayor Bloomberg’s choice for Chancellor have been millionaires, your actual experience in education outweighs them, and as such, he should not deny you what you truly deserve.

I trust that in your role as Schools Chancellor you will always act in the best interest of our children.
Please know that if I can be any assistance to you, my door will always be open.

Respectfully,

Senator Reverend Rubén Díaz
