Dominicans in New York to recognize the work of the Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz on behalf of the Dominican Community

How grateful, proud, and privileged I feel that I have been chosen as one of the persons to be recognized during the 24th Anniversary of the Comite del Dominicano en el Exterior!
Mr. Maximo Padilla, President of the Comite del Dominicano en el Exterior (CODEX-the Committee of Dominicans Abroad) has announced the celebration of the 24th Anniversary of the organization which will include a banquet to be held next Sunday, December 18th , starting at 8: 00 p.m. in one of the Grand Ball rooms of the Astoria World Manor, located at 25-22 Astoria Blvd., Queens, NY.
The Comite del Dominicano en el Exterior was founded by Mr. Maximo Padilla, on December 20, 1987. Since then their work and achievements for the benefit of Dominicans have expanded to the point that not only are Dominicans able to vote abroad, but they also have the right to elect seven (7) members of the Dominican House of Representatives to represent them abroad.
"I feel privileged, that for this particular event, which is emerging as one of the most outstanding events in the history of the Committee, they have chosen me to be recognized for my work, contributions and commitment to the Dominican community both abroad and in the Dominican Republic."
Among the invited guests are Hon. Dr. Leonel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic, Businessman Juan Ramon Gomez Diaz, President of Telemicro Internacional, Lic. Maximo Corsino, General Consul in New York, the Hon. Ruben Diaz, Jr., President of the Borough of the Bronx, Businessman Luis Ferrera and Journalist Dario Abreu of the Office of the Press of the Consulate.
“Additionally, I would like to express on behalf of my wife, children, and family, our appreciation to Mr. Maximo Padilla, the Board of Directors of CODEX, and the organizers of the event for the honor that they have bestowed upon me.”
