Need a Job? New Website Page Can Help
State Senator Steve Saland (R,I,C – Poughkeepsie) today announced the launch of a “Jobs Resource Center” page on his website which will allow users to search for job openings in Columbia and Dutchess counties, as well as in all regions of the state.
“I am committed to making it easier for our residents to find jobs when and where they are available,” stated Senator Saland. “The new ‘Jobs Resource Center’ is a comprehensive listing of links to job search resources and job listings. It is designed to be a one-stop career center with the most up-to-date information available.”
The Jobs Resource Center includes links to jobs within Columbia and Dutchess counties, as well as local, state and federal government. For further employment resources, there are several links to career centers where job seekers can go for additional free services such as job search and placement assistance, skills assessments, resume help, labor market information, career planning and training assistance.
In addition, the Senator’s Jobs Resource Center page includes a link to “Jobs Express” – a new website recently launched by Governor Andrew Cuomo. The Jobs Express website takes thousands of jobs listed on the New York State Jobs Bank and sorts them by region and industry. Currently, the New York State Job Bank has 42,370 job openings, including 1,681 in the Hudson Valley and 2,726 in the Capital District. The Labor Department will be updating the job listings daily.
Senator Saland’s Jobs Resource Center can be found by going to www.saland.nysenate.gov and clicking on Jobs Resource Center. To visit Jobs Express: go to Senator Saland’s Jobs Resource Center and click on the first link or go to www.labor.ny.gov/jobs/regional.shtm.
