BUFFALO, N.Y. – Senator Timothy M. Kennedy, D-58th District, will host a Senior Symposium Wednesday, September 28 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Lucarelli’s Banquet Center in Lackawanna. The event aims to connect Western New York Seniors to services available to them and to help answer any questions that they may have.
All senior citizens who reside in the 58th Senatorial District are invited to attend Senator Kennedy’s Senior Symposium. Because space is limited at Lucarelli’s, individuals who would like to attend are required to RSVP by Monday, September 26. To RSVP, call Senator Kennedy’s office at 716-826-2683.
“Western New York’s Seniors have worked hard to keep our nation and our state strong. Now, we want to ensure they are able to access the services and programs that they have earned and deserve,” Senator Kennedy said.
“I hope senior citizens from throughout the 58th Senate District will join us for our Senior Symposium,” he added. “This is an exciting opportunity for us to hear directly from Western New Yorkers about the issues they’re facing around the community. We expect the event to be very beneficial for seniors who may have questions or need help connecting with certain agencies or service providers.”
Over 30 agencies and organizations have confirmed participation in the event. Some of the free services that will be available at the Symposium include blood pressure checks, health screenings, fraud prevention, Erie County Senior Services picture I.D. cards, computer assistance and much more.
In addition to the services available, Senator Kennedy will also be unveiling his legislative agenda as it pertains to aging issues.
“My plan to protect Western New York Seniors focuses on keeping people safe, helping them save money and protecting important services,” Senator Kennedy said.
The Senior Symposium is a free event that includes breakfast, compliments of Senator Kennedy, at no cost to taxpayers.
