"I congratulate the men and women of the 105th Airlift Wing on this momentous announcement," said Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson). "The Air Force has made a terrific choice in selecting Stewart Air National Guard Base as the home of their new C-17 Globemaster transport planes. This decision confirms what we in the region have known for a long time, that the 105th Airlift Wing is one of the finest, most professional units in the Air Guard. Placing the C-17's at Stewart will ensure the long term stability of the Air Force Base and is a great boost to the Hudson Valley economically," said Larkin.
