NY State Senator Adriano Espaillat (D – Manhattan/Bronx) marked International Women’s Day by recognizing the countless contributions of women throughout the world. He also called on a renewed commitment to fighting the scourge of domestic violence.
Senator Adriano Espaillat said:
“International Women’s Day is an excellent opportunity to recognize the countless contributions of women in the United States and around the world. Whether through their leadership in the areas of arts, science, academia, athletics, business, and government, or through their everyday acts, all of us have been shaped by extraordinary women in our lives. One way we can demonstrate our gratitude to all women is to come together and work to end domestic violence in our society.
“On this International Women’s Day, let’s resolve to educate, empower, and engage both men and women about the issue of domestic violence. Together, we can work to protect women and families from domestic violence and make every International Women’s Day brighter than the last.”
