Transitional Sheltering Assistance (TSA)
The Transitional Sheltering Assistance (TSA) helps survivors stay in hotels/motels if their homes were damaged from Hurricane Sandy. FEMA has a dedicated toll free number for survivors who are eligible for TSA to call and find a hotel and request accessible transportation (if needed) from their shelter to the hotel. Please note: Hotels participate in the TSA program independently and may have to honor previous reservations.
The number is 866-863-8673. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. EST, seven days/week.
City Hotel Program
NYC is also providing hotel rooms to survivors through their own program. Those who need housing can visit one of the restoration centers or call 311 and should identify themselves as needing a hotel room.
