On August 16th, 2012, Senator Bill Perkins joined by elected officials, environmental advocates, community leaders and, tenants in his district who have been impacted by landlord failure to disclose a site’s superfund status will be announcing an upcoming public forum on state superfund sites. The forum, motivated by the class 2 superfund site located at 2350 Fifth Ave in Senator Perkins District, will discuss current owner disclosure requirements for leasing and subleasing space located on Superfund sites throughout the state. The goal of this forum is to gather input and information to strengthen existing protections and to develop additional protections through legislation being proposed by Senator Perkins.
