Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) and Assemblyman David McDonough (R-North Merrick) recently congratulated Mepham High School science student Bilal Siddiqui on being named a national semi-finalist in the 2012 Intel Science Talent Search. Senator Fuschillo and Assemblyman McDonough also presented Bilal with a legislative resolution honoring his accomplishment.

“This is an incredible achievement by a remarkable student. After working tirelessly and spending countless hours on study and research, Bilal has been named one of the country’s elite young scientists. I’m certain this is the first of many accomplishments we’ll be seeing from Bilal in the future, and I wish him all the best,” said Senator Fuschillo.

The Intel Science Talent Search is the nation’s most prestigious pre-college science competition. Participants come from all across the country, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands to compete in the program. Bilal is one of only 300 semifinalists chosen from entries nationwide.
