SENATOR FUSCHILLO TO COLLECT CELL PHONES FOR SOLDIERS ON OCTOBER 13th
Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.
September 26, 2012
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) will once again be sponsoring a “Cell Phones for Soldiers” program to benefit our troops serving overseas at two locations on Saturday, October 13th, 2012.
Residents with outdated or unwanted cell phones can donate them at either Amityville Village Hall (21 Ireland Place, Amityville) or the Bellmore Train Station (northwest corner of Sunrise Highway and Centre Avenue, Bellmore) on October 13th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Participating in the program is easy; residents can simply drive up, drop off their unwanted cell phones, and drive away.
Senator Fuschillo’s “Cell Phones for Soldiers” program collects old, unwanted or broken cell phones to benefit American troops serving overseas. All phones collected will be sent to a cell phone recycling company which will make a donation to the “Cell Phones for Soldiers” program for each donated phone. The donations will be used to purchase calling cards for overseas soldiers to call their loved ones in the United States. To date, Senator Fuschillo’s “Cell Phones for Soldiers” program has raised over 112,000 minutes of calling time for soldiers and their families.
For more information about this program, please call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
