Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) and Long Island Cares recently joined together to help families affected by Hurricane Sandy by sponsoring a free food and supply distribution program in Copiague.
The program brought thousands of pounds of free food, water and supplies to the Copiague Library to help families recover from Hurricane Sandy. Senator Fuschillo, along with representatives from Long Island Cares, distributed non-perishable food, water, cleaning supplies, baby products, children’s coats, school supplies, and pet food to residents in need.
“This program is a way to help make life a little bit easier for families who are going through tough times. I thank Long Island Cares for once again partnering with me to lend a helping hand to those in need,” said Senator Fuschillo.
Residents who could not attend the program at the Copiague Library but are in need of assistance can call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630 or Long Island Cares at 631-582-FOOD.
