Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is partnering with the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) and Freeport Mayor Andrew Hardwick to provide services and assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure.
Senator Fuschillo and Mayor Hardwick have arranged to have DFS’ Mobile Foreclosure Relief Center to come to the Freeport Train Station parking lot (northeast corner of Sunrise Highway and Henry Street) on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 11:00am-7:00pm.
DFS staff members will be on hand to speak individually with homeowners and assess where they are in the pre-foreclosure or foreclosure process; provide homeowners with information about specific loan modification programs which may be available to them; and offer information on how they can file complaints with the Department so that suspected cases of lender or mortgage servicer abuses, such as predatory lending practices, can be investigated
Homeowners should bring copies of their mortgage documents, loan payment records, letters from their lenders or mortgage servicers, or any other information relevant to their personal situation which could be useful to DFS staff in helping to provide assistance. The program is open to everyone and no appointments are necessary.
Residents who would like more information about this program can call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
