Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today was named one of the “Top 50 Most Influential Long Islanders” for 2012 by the Long Island Press.

The annual “power list” profiles 50 Long Islanders who have considerable influence over daily life on Long Island. Members of the list are selected from hundreds of potential candidates and are chosen based on their contributions to Long Island and their impact on the Island over the past year.

Senator Fuschillo was chosen for “addressing the biggest issues facing Long Islanders for more than a decade.” The Long Island Press noted his efforts to promote economic development by helping to create the Broad Hollow Bioscience Park at Farmingdale State College and expand the park to bring new jobs and revenue to Long Island. Senator Fuschillo was also selected for his successes on strengthening New York’s drunk driving laws, combating cyberbullying, and protecting consumers from identity theft.
