New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently sponsored a free prostate cancer screening program at the Massapequa Library.
Senator Fuschillo sponsored the program in conjunction with the Integrated Medical Foundation. The free screenings were performed by Dr. Michael Ziegelbaum, Dr. Matthew Mene’ and Dr. Evan Eisenberg from Advanced Urology Centers of New York.
“I’m so pleased that we were able to provide this important health service. Early detection is critical to successfully treating prostate cancer, which is why it’s so important that men get screened regularly. It’s wonderful that so many residents took advantage of these free screenings, and I thank the Integrated Medical Foundation for partnering with me to make this program a success,” said Senator Fuschillo.
Prostate Cancer is the second most common cancer in men, with approximately one in six men being diagnosed with it in their lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society. Early detection is vital to overcoming prostate cancer.
Men who were unable to participate in the screening program but would like additional information about free prostate cancer screening programs can call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
