Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently visited the Roosevelt Children’s Academy to thank students for lending a helping hand to families in need.
The students collected 1,500 pounds of food for a food drive Senator Fuschillo is sponsoring in conjunction with Long Island Cares: the Harry Chapin Food Bank. The food collected by the students will be used by Long Island Cares to help serve the over 300,000 Long Islanders who don’t know where their next meal is going to come from.
“The students at Roosevelt Children’s Academy did an absolutely amazing job. Their efforts will make a big difference in the lives of many people who are facing tough times. I thank them for their hard work and congratulate them on a job well done,” said Senator Fuschillo.
