Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently partnered with Hempstead Town Clerk Mark Bonilla and Supervisor Kate Murray in sponsoring a free Senior I.D. Card Program at the Wantagh Library.
The program enabled Town of Hempstead seniors to receive free wallet-sized photo ID cards that could be helpful in case of an emergency. The senior ID cards contain the cardholder’s emergency contact numbers, physician’s contact information, allergies, and other vital information that could be useful to paramedics in a medical emergency. Nearly 100 local seniors received free ID cards through the program.
Seniors who were unable to participate in the program but would like more information about obtaining a free senior ID card can call the Hempstead Town Clerk’s Office at 516-812-3046 or Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
