Squadron Earns Senate's Highest Environmental Score
October 4, 2012
NEW YORK -- Today, State Senator Daniel Squadron received the New York State Senate's highest environmental score, in a new voter guide released by EPL/Environmental Advocates.
With a score of 81, Squadron was the Senate's high scorer. EA notes that the Senate's scores were, overall, lower than the Assembly's due to the Senate Republican Majority refusing to bring a number of critical environmental bills to a vote.
The full guide, including the list of relevant bills, is available here.
"Like with so many other issues, too many critical environmental bills never saw the light of day in the Senate during this legislative session. However, I'm proud to have supported the bills that I had an opportunity to. I'll continue to work with my colleagues toward a state-wide ban on fracking and the many clean energy and climate change bills that are vital to New York's environmental health. I'm always proud to stand with Environmental Advocates and the countless New Yorkers working toward a healthy environment and a healthy New York," said Senator Squadron.
