Nyack Hospital, Senator Carlucci to Co-Host Free Breast Cancer Screenings for Uninsured and Underinsured Women in Rockland County
Nyack, NY – Nyack Hospital and Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) will be hosting a FREE Breast Cancer Screening Program this Friday, September 28, from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM at The Breast Center at Nyack Hospital. This is a chance for anyone who cannot afford a routine Mammography and Clinical Breast Exam to actually receive one.
Refreshments will be provided by New York State Senator David Carlucci.
“Early detection, screening and clinical examinations are absolutely critical to ensure that women are safeguarded from breast cancer,” said Senator Carlucci. “Medical experts across the health spectrum, including the American Cancer Society, all agree that women as early in their 20s and 30s should have a clinical breast exam as part of their periodic health exam, with women age 40 and older having a mammogram every year. I am thrilled to join Nyack Hospital in co-sponsoring this breast cancer screening event that offers women the opportunity to fulfill this important checkup.”
Patricia Joseph, MD, Director of Breast and Women’s Health Prevention Services at Nyack Hospital remarked, “Nyack Hospital is pleased to reach out to those members of our community who are financially unable to access screening programs through the traditional medical system.”
This cancer screening event is grant funded by the Cancer Services Program of the Hudson Valley Region in partnership with Nyack Hospital, and, in part, with a grant from Capital One.
