SPRING VALLEY – In conjunction with Haiti’s two-year anniversary since its deadly earthquake, Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) today visited the Louis Kurtz Civic Center in Spring Valley to take part in its First Annual Youth Summit hosted by the Rockland County Haiti Relief Campaign. He spoke to High School students throughout Rockland County about ways to become engaged in the effort to rebuild Haiti. The event also featured three educational workshops with keynote speakers.
“We mourn for the victims of the earthquake that struck Haiti just two years ago, yet we look forward to building a brighter future for a nation that yearns revival,” said Senator Carlucci. “It is upon all of us as global citizens to rise to the occasion and help those affected during this crucial hour of need. I would like to applaud the Rockland County Haiti Relief Campaign for organizing this event and continuing its commitment to increasing awareness for this urgent calling.”
