Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) today visited Pascack Valley Learning Center in Airmont to join with students who helped raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.  He was joined by Mary Young, CEO of the American Red Cross, Metro North, Principal JoAnne Fratello and over 100 students who gathered in the school auditorium to deliver a check to the American Red Cross.

“In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, not enough can be said about the tireless work and dedication that ordinary people have shown to help the victims rebuild their lives,” said Senator Carlucci.  “I applaud the students at Pascack Valley Learning Center for taking a leadership role and for raising funds that will directly benefit those who need help most.”

The American Red Cross has played an integral role in responding to the needs of thousands or disaster victims all across the United States, and most recently in the Tri-State region that was hit by Sandy.  The Red Cross provides shelter, food, health and mental health services to assist families and get their lives back on track.
