ReCharge NY Power Allocations
George D. Maziarz
July 10, 2012
On March 8th, Senator Maziarz proudly announced the passage of ReCharge NY, a program that would provide low cost power to businesses to help create and retain jobs. As of today, over 90 Western New York companies have received power allocations from the New York State Power Authority under the ReCharge NY program.
The ReCharge NY program gives businesses the ability to purchase low cost power as an incentive to keep operations and jobs here in New York. The new program will help businesses overcome the costs of doing business in New York and will help revitalize our economy, including the manufacturing sector which has lost 288,000 jobs over the past ten years. The availability of low cost power is a critical factor when New York-based companies decide whether to stay open or expand, and when new companies decide where to invest.
