Today at North Tonawanda City Hall, Senator George Maziarz thanked two local veterans, John Zaleski and Walt Buchalski, for their advocacy on behalf of those who have served their country in the military. The two North Tonawanda residents presented Senator Maziarz with the idea for a new law (Chapter 16 of the Laws of 2011) that encourages municipalities to erect bulletin boards displaying helpful information for veterans in their city, town or village halls. In turn, Senator Maziarz, presented John and Walt with framed “pen certificates” in honor of Governor Cuomo signing the bill into law last year.
