State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of inducting Master Sergeant Corine Lombardo of Scotia into the New York State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame on May 22nd in Albany.

"Corine is an outstanding veteran, an amazing person and a true asset to her community," Senator Farley said. "Not only has she served our State and our Country, she continues to help her fellow servicemen and women by connecting them with information on benefits and programs that will help them return to civilian life."

The New York State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame was created to honor and recognize outstanding veterans who have distinguished themselves both in military and civilian life.

"This ceremony was held right before Memorial Day, a holiday that commemorates the heroic actions of our fallen military and thanks current veterans and service personnel for their contributions to our Country," Senator Farley said.

Master Sgt. Lombardo is a 30-year veteran of the Army and the New York Army National Guard. In addition to her military career, she is a full time employee of the State Division of Military and Naval Affairs, specializing in media relations, environmental community relations and photo/broadcast journalism.

Throughout her career, Master Sgt. Lombardo has responded to numerous New York State emergencies, including the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center. She was also deployed to Iraq in 2005. Her military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals and repeated awards of the Army Commendation and Army Achievement Medals.

In addition to her military and State service, she works for Patriot Hills, a not-for-profit organization that focuses on veterans' reintegration and resource services. She also served as president of the Enlisted Association of the New York National Guard and was a volunteer for the Friends of the Schenectady County Public Library.

A graduate of Nyack College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management, she is currently attending the United States Sergeant Major Academy. She is married to Randy Lombardo and has a daughter, Sabrina, and a granddaughter, Kristen.
