Senator Jack M. Martins will be sponsoring Safety Saturday at Westbury High School, 1 Post Road in Old Westbury, on Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents are all welcome to attend to take advantage of the services offered.
Safety Saturday will include:
Shed the Meds – Anyone that needs to dispose of prescription drugs can bring them and they will be properly disposed of by the Nassau County Police Department.
Car Seat Safety Check – New York State Troopers will be on-hand to check to make sure your child car seat is properly installed so that your child receives maximum protection.
Seat Belt Convincer – Strap into a New York State Police crash simulator, which lets you experience the impact of a car crash, stressing the importance of seat belts.
Nationwide Distracted Driving Simulator – Talking on a cell phone? Texting? This simulator will demonstrate how dangerous distracted driving can be.
Long Island Cares Mobile Outreach – The mobile outreach van provides outreach and assistance to people who may be in need of food as well as referral services.
Cell Phones for Soldiers – Donate a used cell phone to support a call home for a soldier.
