"I have concerns regarding the potential impacts of closing four precincts in Nassau County, including the 6th Precinct, and converting them into "community policing centers." Public safety is the hallmark of our suburban lifestyle. Simply put, public safety should never be compromised for the limited benefit of balancing a ledger, especially as here, where the public safety concern far outweighs whatever limited benefit there may be to the County's $2.4 billion budget. I urge the County to work with our local communities to ensure that the concerns and needs of our communities are being properly addressed."
