Senator Defrancisco Named “Guardian of Small Business”

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has named Senator John A. DeFrancisco (R-I-C, Syracuse) a 2012 Guardian of Small Business for his consistent support on issues that affect small businesses.  Senator DeFrancisco is one of ten, out of 212, legislators to receive this designation.

Senator DeFrancisco was honored for his “commitment to reducing business costs, reducing taxes and improving New York’s economy for small businesses,” said NFIB’s New York State Director, Mike Durant in a statement. Out of more than 100 pieces of legislation monitored, seven bills were examined in NFIB’s Voting Record, including votes on the property-tax cap last year and pension reform.

“I am honored to have been named a Guardian of Small Business by the National Federation of Independent Business,” said Senator DeFrancisco.  “I have always been a voice for Central New York’s small businesses in the Senate, and I am happy that NFIB has recognized this and honored me with this prestigious award. Small businesses are vital to stimulating the economy and creating jobs for our workforce.  I will continue to fight to make Central New York a place for businesses to prosper.”
