“With today’s announcement about an agreement on comprehensive legislation to strengthen New York’s domestic violence laws, our state has taken a positive step in combating this societal epidemic. The Senate Democratic Conference recently held a public forum and has sponsored multiple bills intended to combat domestic violence and provide dignity and greater protection to the victims of this terrible crime. I commend the Governor for his leadership on this important issue and look forward to working with his administration to ensure that all New Yorkers are protected.”
