Senator Serrano Celebrates the 55th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade

Senator Serrano marched in the 55th Annual Puerto Rican Day parade, which takes place along 5th Avenue in Manhattan. The parade is widely attended by over one million people of all nationalities and celebrates the history and culture of the Puerto Rican people.

"This annual celebration reminds us all of the trajectory Puerto Ricans have traveled in the United States, particularly New York City," said Senator Serrano. "It is always an honor to march in this parade, embrace our culture and be reminded of the contributions Puerto Ricans have made in New York. Today, we all come together as one to honor those who are currently making strides in all disciplines, as well as those trailblazers who paved the way before us."

Senator Serrano who marched with his father, Congressman José E. Serrano, on the parade route, joined community leaders, elected officials, union members, performers and athletes, in addition to more than a million cheering residents along 5th Avenue.
