José M. Serrano
June 8, 2012
Senator Serrano co-sponsored a Meet and Greet Resource Fair at the Andrew Freedman Home in the Bronx with Assemblywoman Vanessa Gibson. Local community organizations encouraged the community to learn about and utilize all the resources available to them in the areas of education, financial services, social services, healthcare, and housing access.
"Resource Fairs offer a convenient opportunity for the community to get a great deal of valuable information in one location," said Senator Serrano. "There are many wonderful and free services available to the community, yet they’re underutilized because many people are not aware of them. I think the Resource Fair is a fun way for the community to become more involved with their local organizations. I encourage everyone to share these resources with their family and friends."
Free health screenings and giveaways were offered for attendees.
