For the third consecutive year, Senator Serrano served as the Honorary Chairman at the New York State Art Teacher Association (NYSATA) Legislative Student Art Exhibit on Wednesday, March 14th in the Well of the Capitol Building in Albany. This event showcased students’ art work and invited teachers, parents, and schoolchildren from across the state to share their support for arts education.
"This exhibit creates a wider recognition of the vital importance of education through art," said Senator Serrano. "By encouraging students to foster artistic skills, they will be more engaged in their social and home life, and more successful in courses like reading and math. I am honored to be recognized once again, and will continue to spread the word on the positive impact of arts education on the children of New York."
